At a projects inception Atco Engineering was asked to provide a design concept on a frame assembly where overall dimensional tolerance was within +/-0.3 and minimised material waste. Furthermore, over 1,000 units would be required within 8 weeks once the final design was approved.
Through this process Atco Engineering manufactured prototypes for physical evaluation by the customer and provided feedback on assembly processing for integration into future design revisions. Prior to each revisions sign off, the customer would supply Atco Engineering the drawings electronically for review.
Final product was supplied within 7 weeks, used laser cutting, turret punching, CNC brake presses and assembly processes to within +/- 0.25mm. Material utilisation was over 94% of a 1220 x 2440 sheet.
